Cedar Rapids, Iowa | The Smart7 and 7500 are the same hardware and same pinout on the 14 pin connector. If the cabling works with a 7500, then the cabling is correct. Probably an issue with the config on the Smart7.
I suspect the Agco display is configuring COM2 on the Smart7, but your SteadySteer harness is expecting data on COM1. Just a guess.
For a SteadySteer, you want to configure the Smart7's COM1 for a baud rate of 38400 bps. GGA and VTG at 10 Hz. GSA and GSV at 1 Hz.
If you're going to use TerraStar, you may have to turn on L-band tracking in the Smart7. That is off by default on the old firmware. That said, if you are going to use TerraStar on the Smart7, update the firmware to the current version (v7.08.15) as there are some improvements to accuracy and convergence speed on TerraStar in the latest firmware version. | |
