East Central MN | Had the exact discussion last fall with a Ziegler tech that has been around these machines since the Falcon days.
We have an 8103 with a Falcon and were having an issue he was helping diagnose. We ended up talking about upgrades and he walked me through options. I mentioned we updated our Hagie from a Raven Envizio last summer to a Viper 4+ and he said it wasn't actually that bad to make the change from the Falcon to the Viper 4+ if we wanted the consistency between applications. Harnessing and setup was not a concern. After troubleshooting nodes and the harnesses on a Falcon system I wouldn't be too afraid of getting it figured out. Cost is probably the biggest hurdle with the age of those machines. | |
