childhood home of Randy Travis | Update. Well I would call it a success. I kept everyone happy and healthy, learned a ton, and made some $$$ to boot.
I packaged up 6 of those heifers' and sold them as 2 grouped lots on a value added program through the sale barn Wednesday. I realize the rising market certainly helped me. I made some mistakes on the buy side, maybe a mistake or 2 on the sell side. But after all said and done made $73 a head after vax, feed, trucking, labor, mineral, hay, yardage, commission, and checkoff.
It was only a 42 day turn on the heifers. I kept the steers and will turn them in a couple weeks.
