I don't spread anything but lime in the fall for various reasons. I just finished spreading potash a few days ago on our gravel ground. So good or bad that's how I've done it for 40+ years. I spilled a little on the black top and we got a misty shower and it had all dissolved into liquid in a few hours so it should easily get to the roots of a growing crop quickly.
