Subject: Ear Corn ??

Schlegel Farms, Hagerstown Indiana
The post below about ear corn got me wondering about the weight of a bushel of ear corn.

I know 70# is the standard weight.

But, I swear that I remember there was a date connection applied back when I was a kid in the 50s and early 60s .......... but I can't find anything online about it.

It seems like Dad always bought or sold ear corn using something along the lines of after so many months in the crib bushel weight changed.

Like at harvest, it was 70#/bushel and then went to 68# in January of the next year ...... or something like that.

Does anyone remember anything like this?
