Holland, Indiana (SW IN) | About now every year I start thinking about killing our CC we have out ---when? should we have sprayed already? what if it quits raining? what if it's wet?
DANG I'm insecure :-)
This is Annual Rye Grass (ARG) Was planning to plant soybeans spray Gly to kill the CC at planting --2 weeks later ARG should be dead and soybeans necking out
Will not be tilling (If you have ever tried to till ARG or other heavy grass type CC you'll understand) AND we have almost no tillage equipment left
Henbit darn near out growing the 10" tall ARG--think the cold snap thinned the ARG, Henbit is winning --I just googled "Henbit is a host for SCN" --
not what I wanted--this farm has had applications of Chicken litter past years seems to make the Henbit grow great
Henbit may alter timing of our spraying ???
what would you do --mostly just one farm has heavy Henbit hope to be planting soybeans April 5 weather permitting
Spray as soon as possible "hate to make another spray pass" ---2-4-D or Banvel should be deadly on Henbit --spray Gly later when warmer?
Good farming
Thanks
Dan
