We use 27/8 oil well pipe on 10’ centers. We did a 2’ 9” hole and then drive the post 1’. One bag of sackcrete will fill hole. We use 3.5-4.5” pipe to hang gates. Some used pipe will be magnetized which is hard to weld. Used pipe is getting cheaper here so the supply must be getting better.
