China is broken out in WASDE tables because China doesn’t export grain. Therefore their in country stocks aren’t available on the open world market. So their years worth of wheat carryover isn’t available for consumption elsewhere. Breaking them out in a line item allows for quicker analysis and comparison by those who read the WASDE.
But like normal your coffee shop explanation sounds better and now will be thought of as true. | |
