Fruita CO | Sounds like he was quite a guy.
The toughest man I ever knew took a bullet through the spine in Vietnam & never walked again. His last movement was to spin the .50 cal. on the tank retriever around & shoot the sniper that shot him out of a tree. He farmed for 40 years, had a 4430 & 4400 combine set up with hand controls and winches to get in & out, & a pickup with wheelchair carrier on the roof. Never a bad attitude or self-pity, just did his job. Always had a hired man to hook up equipment, etc.
He dislocated his hip & didn't know it until it got infection, which finally killed him.
