Subject: RE: Max wind speed to fly drone

Chebanse, IL.....

Around 20 mph wind is my usual go/no-go break. Taking off can be a bit exciting if it's windy, depending where you break ground when it's real windy.
But, one has to consider it's real easy to fly too far away with a tail wind & then realize you might not make it back if something in the battery surprises you and % charge is dropping faster than you expected. So, if it's real windy (+20 mph), might stay close to home!

I realize the drone can fly in much higher wind. In fact, once it's airborne, the drone's flight is only affected by it's own airspeed, not the wind. The drone is operating in a moving body of air whether it's 5 mph or 50 mph wind. But, there's usually turbulence to deal with and the ground speed vs time factor.

Again...20 mph for me.
