56676 | Pulled into the farm yesterday to check cows and one of the yearlings was playing on a manure pile. I said "Hey kids, look at that big dummy!" They giggled. Took me about 15 seconds to walk over there on my way to the cows and in that time the idiot had gotten herself upside down on the pile and couldn't roll off. Tried to pull on one her back legs and realized that would get me injured. Went to her head and got her to roll down the pile. She smashed her face into the muck but stood up and walked off. Thanked my lucky stars she did it when I was right there instead of 30 minutes either way.
When I met my wife and she told me about it, I didn't understand how an animal could die (and very quickly) by getting "on it's back." What a dumb way to lose a life! | |
