se montana | I’ve looked at it several times over the years, He’s on a very similar dryland cow calf deal as me, just 150 miles south. His heart was in the right place for the beef industry and agriculture in general. The smallest things seemed very, very dramatic,but that’s what cameras do for you I guess.
The biggest problem I saw with the operation was that it was a feedlot for 6 months or more of the year. Making and Feeding hay and hauling manure were two of his largest inputs. Totally unnecessary inputs in that part of the world. You don’t have to pet every calf to be successful in the cow calf business. Grazing almost year around and cake in the winter is what makes those ranches work in that area.
I’m sure those handling facilities and new gators were sponsored for advertisement.
Seems like a Nice guy, I hope he does well in sales. Not sure why the divorce, but I think there’s still at least a 60% chance of every marriage having one.
