I bought this place 5 years ago. Absolutely love it, but wish I would have been 35 instead of 55. I have done a bunch of work to it so far but have a ton left to do. Just put the new field entrance in, cover crop barley coming up, i seeded 6 acrrs of thevfront to winter barley last fall with alfalfa. I have seeded alot of waterways but still have some erosion as the cornstalks floated a bit. Re roofed the house. The house was built in 1864 and very solid. The old barn, some of the joints, are pulling apart as the foundation isn't the greatest. I put up some bins last year and hired that done.
The auger area in front of the bin is slabs from a railroad crossing as well as the retaining wall. I put fabric down , a drain tile at the base and back filled with riprap from a bridge deck resurface. I also used the rip rap for a retaining wall around my driveway culvert. The baskets are hesco flood control baskets.
