SW OH | We used 2x4s for all of our slabs on the farm and no steel. After years of daily scraping they have to be pretty thin. Right at the manure pump could be 50 times a day. Also after the dairy cows left we started driving loaded trucks across some of it. Most of it is cracked and crumbling around the cracks. Ask for class C concrete.
The last concrete poured for the cows was finished with a bull float that had strips bolted to the bottom to leave traction grooves.
I think it's 2.5 feet of bunk space per cow.
