Iowa | I have to disagree to a point. The old money guys farmed a fair amount in the 50's and 60's and worked their ass off and had crops and livestock. Bought land that would pay for itself by growing a crop. Guys buying land now around here have trucking companies or other outside money or old money. Also seems some of the bigger operations had kids get into something other than farming and when they made a bunch of money put it back in the family farm. I'm sure there's a few that connected with the right guy on a golf course or boat ramp but probably not too many. | |
