Subject: DMI NH3 Shank Question

Iowa
I've got a question that has boggled me for a bit on my DMI NH3 bar. A while back we purchased a 3200 Anhydrous toolbar to side-dress with. The toolbar had been cut down to 8R30" (but had shanks for 12R), and we've wanted to get out to 12R30" so last year I purchased a 40' wide bare 4250 (I think) DMI bar and transferred all of the shanks/plumbing/meters over to it. The toolbar is wide enough to go to 16R30", so we're contemplating adding 4 more shanks to it.

As I've begun looking for either loose parts or smaller bars to buy and poach parts from I've noted that I seem to have a shank setup that isn't on other bars (or at least I'm not coming across any). I'm not set on needing the exact shank assemblies as the current 11 on the machine, but I am curious if anyone else has seen this style before. They're built pretty heavy and seem to work fine, but are pretty awkward to attach. They do show up in the Case IH parts books.

Any thoughts? Has anyone else seen this style of DMI NH3 shank before?

Curt
