Subject: jd planter question

North Central Kansas
2001 jd 1770 max emerge planter 16 row.
has 2 cylinders to fold and unfold the planter. Both cylinders have the hyd inputs on the top. Both cylinders have an opening on the bottom. The cylinder on the left as looking at it.. has both of the bottom openings pluged shut. The other one (photo attached) has 1 plugged and 1 with a pressure release valve on it.

Parts photos of JD show that:
1. They are both to have that pressure release unit
2. They are both to be turned upside down vs how mine are.

I am third ownder. Im not saying someone turned these over, but find it highly unlikely.

What is the right way for them? Why am I asking...because the one leaks! Everytime I fold/unfold it there is at least a cup or more of oil that comes out. Ok thats not much...but add it up and at about $7 a quart that all adds up.
