We use hy-guard equivalent in our tractors and hy-tran in our combines. We are getting quite a bit of primarily dirt working machinery that keep the hydraulic system separate. One or two use atf in the hydraulics but most use a somewhat regular hyd oil that is only used for hydraulics. I assume that we can get something cheaper than the hy-guard. What would be a good oil to use?
Just quit worrying about cost and put Cat HYDO 10 in everything. I tried Cenex Indol last spring, and I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the three barrels I have, I'm switching back to Cat. All my 95Es make way more noise in the hydraulics and steering with it.
Just my $0.02, to me, oil and grease are the cheapest part of maintenance. |
