Subject: Raw wool as inulation

Manitoba
Does anyone have any real world experience insulating with raw wool ? I've read that when insulating a barn ceiling that a vapor barrier is unnecessary. My plan was or is to attach chicken wire or stucco wire on bottom of rafters and toss in raw wool to give about a foot or so. there would still be attic space above. Ive read that the wool will absorb some of the humidity in the barn and release it slowly as opposed to having a barrier where condensation occurs
