Yes, usually inner oil seal will start to leak as outer greased bearing gets some slack in it. You may be more attentive than the guys we had driving out 5000 series JD utility tractors but they would run them until the wheel was oily before they said anything.

If you don’t have a dial indicator handy, jack it up and put a finger on the axle and housing across the seal and then let the jack down. Any definite movement you feel is probably abnormal.
