I believe that to blow out a record yield, you need to start with a good price in the spring. These cheaper prices have resulted in farmers cutting back on fert, cheaper spray options, fungicide, foo foo juice that might bump yield but questionable ROI etc. There is no motivation to push for top end yields right now.
I don’t think you are representing the majority of corn growers. I don't believe in foo foo juice, but the rest of them we apply as much as the crop condition warrants. I think most corn growers do. I think some might switch to a different crop on some acres, but few don't take their corn to its potential unless they are on their way out of farming already. |
