My initial reaction is if you have to ask if you are being a jerk you probably are. But getting a daughter what she wants for her birthday rarely qualifies as being a jerk, so I guess you are safe.

Most toys are a piece of junk and a total waste of money....if she wants it and you want to give it to her go for it. When it breaks say "Yep, that happens."
