south east minnesota | Check see if there's any food stuck in the bottom anywhere. Our dishwasher has a little food trap deal in the bottom that needs to be cleaned once in a while ( depending on how thoroughly you rinse your dishes beforehand ). Also, I've heard, that if the inside is plastic, it tends to get a funk to it after the washer ages a bit. I know that if I forget I've got a dirty load of dishes in the washer and open it the next day it sure is ugly, but the inside of mine is stainless steel. Run it and the smell is gone. If you just rinse up the dishes and after a day or 2 get enough for a load, and, if it's plastic to boot..........? Maybe that could be as well. I've heard lemon juice and vinegar and soda all 3, probly not together, but all 3 work. I'd do the vinegar and lemon juice. Get rid of the funk and any hard water stains. That can make it smell too.
