Subject: Has anyone ever made goat milk soap or goat milk cheese?

Saronville, NE
I am interested in trying to make these products from goat milk I would purchase, not planning to own the goats and milk them myself. Does anyone have any experience with either product? I have used the soap and really like it; have also eaten chevre and it is expensive to buy such a small amount at the store. I am doing some book reading on both of the subjects, and have been doing some online research, but was wondering if anyone could lend information or advice...it would be very much appreciated!

Maybe this is not a good idea or business to get into?? I am not thinking of going into it on a large scale by any means. For my "real job" I am a speech pathologist, and have recently returned to work 3 days per week since we had a baby in June. I have been thinking for a long time now about starting a farm-based business that would enable me to stay home more (not looking to stay home full time or anything), be engaged in agriculture (I really enjoy the farm), and of course add income and diversity to what we already offer to our local area. I grew up on a (Holstein) dairy farm, and I really enjoyed working at my family's poultry processing business and selling home-raised poultry at the farmer's market before I got married. I especially enjoyed connecting with customers who were very passionate about knowing where their food came from, and as this movement seems to be continuing to grow, I was looking to find my own niche. TIA for any information or advice, be it positive or negative!
