Yep we had speckendicken, it was one of my Mom's traditional holiday meals. if I remember it had anis and raisins in it which made a very unique taste. Yes they were heavy, and had some spicy meat of some type.
I ate and liked most anything, but my brothers and sisters dreaded that meal.
