Sorry to hear about your loss!   Mmmmmm those morels are GOOOOOD!     We have em all over in the minnesota river valley around dead elms (lots of those).    Tuff year this year, didn't go for a hunt, but heard they came late, small crop, and tuff to find because of early greenup.
