| Personally, I think too many of the old mainline churches have forgotten their first love in their effort to stay relevant to the culture. But by becoming more and more conformed to the world, they actually make themselves irrelevant and they have nothing to offer the world in terms of hope and meaning. Church has too often become another feel good sideshow because nobody is willing to stand up for Truth anymore. The best way to describe my tradition would be a Dutch Calvinist (deleted possible inflammatory suggestion) and have seen the increasing irrelevant of the Anglican Church, the United Church, Presbyterian ..... When the Church no longer preaches Christ crucified, they lose the reason for their existence and they slowly commit suicide.
