Southeast MN
Have been to all those places and personally, I like those areas better when covered with snow and the colder the better.....fewer people and no crowds. Depends on what your interests are and if you have kids. Wife and I like being in the mountains and out on a trail somewhere.

Banff - Lake Louise is good for a days walk-about. Be sure to take a jacket as the breeze off the glacier in August was cool.

Whitefish - take a day and go up on Big Mountain. Never been there in the summer but they have a decent burger on the top of the mountain and can take a gondola up top.

Alberta - kids liked the dinosaur museum.

Yellowstone area - my kids really liked the grizzly bear discovery center in West Yellowstone. We were sledding around Island Park ID. Summertime you can rent ATV's and ride the forest roads if that interests you.

Jackson was a ski trip long before kids and couldn't tell you if the saloons have changed names.....
