SW KS | If you are able to stick magnets to them, then they are probably a 600 series SS. Shooting from memory here but the 300's (austenitic)sp? are for the most part non-magnetic and the 600's (martensitic)sp? i believe are magnetic. You mention 308, all of the 300's are the same class just different grades with slightly different alloys. There is 308, 309, 316, 308L, 309L, 316L just to name a few. Then between the two classes there are lots of other ones also (Inconel, Monel, Hastallow, Titanium). | |
