These are called pods, and they are for medium term storage. Soil cement is put down as a base. Fans and ductwork are installed, and it will be covered with a large tarp. The fans suck air instead of blowing, and that's what holds the tarp down.
These are everywhere around here this year. One local elevator has a 2 million bushel pod plus about a half million on the ground in a pile, plus about 4 million in his bins.
Local basis is about 75 cents under.
