| Ear mold does cause aflatoxin. The most common is caused by "Aspergillus flavus" which thrives in hot, dry, and warm at night conditions. It is interesting to note that alflatoxin can develop in storage if the proper conditions exist. It is highly deadly to horses in feed. There is a test for alflatoxin, which I believe involves a black light. If there is concern you may want to check.
