Virginia
Most of the corn gets planted here beginning April 15-20 at the earliest and finished by the middle of May. The maturity range is 108-120 days. The average maturity would be 114 days(my guess). Beans get planted beginning around May 10. Most of them are mid 3's to mid 4's. I don't know of anyone planting group 2's. Cornharvest begins around the first to middle of Oct. Beans harvest, the middle of Oct.

I usually get started on my corn the last week of Sept. but am usually one of the first to get started. A lot of corn here is stored as high moisture and very few have drying facilities. We're in a huge poultry and dairy county. There are 200 or more dairies in my county alone and more poultry farms than dairies.

Another reason I feel our crops mature slower than those in the midwest is the temperature difference. Our nights are a lot cooler. My sister lives in St. Louis. That's the hottest place I've ever been! You guys have some dirt I would like to farm but I sure don't want your heat.
