Subject: RE: seeding winter wht after durum?

NW Washington
Recropping wheat always increases the disease pressure, but doing it once is probably not too bad. Put on more fertilizer and burn down any volunteer durum a couple weeks before seeding the w. wheat to limit the so called "green bridge" effect of diseases moving from the old crop to the new. If any of the durum volunteers survives the winter you might have a mixed grades/varieties issue.
