Subject: Update on late July planted Oklahoma corn

north central Oklahoma
I think I finllay got this picture thing figured out, but it may take me an edit or two. Anyway. corn pretty much in full tassle now, and most in silk. Can't figure out why 96 day corn is behind 110 day corn in visual maturity. Does the shorter maturity only affect after tassle/silk stage and will mature quicker from that point. I think I need about 40 more days of non freezing weather to make a crop. Pics are 110 day GH corn. Ground still wet, almost muddy today and temps are not to get out of the mid eighties next week or more, and they are calling for more precip over the weekend. Summer is over here fer sure. Full moon brought the moth flight thick the other night, and we found many egg layeing moths today as well as many fall army worms about to molt, doing their thing in the top whorl.
