Subject: Re: CORN YIELD Central & West Central Il

Ron, I have friends who are shelling on sand & said their monitors are usually showing a lot of corn under 15 bpa He said his best field (100 ac)so far made 92bpa across the elevator scales with a couple fields under 50. Also know of another farmer in the area that got 110 bpa off of an irrigated field.

These fields are on sand so won't represent the avg in this area. Talked to another neighbor who shelled an 80 on "upground" He said the field avg 165 acrosss the scales with knobs droppingto 150 & the good black ground running around 180.

Personally we haven't shelled enough to get a "feel" for yields. Just a couple short endrows so we could dump lime. Still a little wet for my liking, 26.3%. I'm also a little concerned about putting corn in a bin at these temps & humidity levels. I know the local elevator is shipping out corn they have received so far instead of putting it into their bins because of that reason, or at least so they say.
