It is possible to do it both ways. The Khrone could be hooked to a Raven and the Raven could communicate with the PF3000 via a serial connection.

On the other hand, with the proper wiring the PF3000 can monitor (not control) the situation directly without the need for a Raven or other console.

If control is desired another controller such as a Raven would be needed with the PF3000.

You are correct in that most common Raven controllers will disregard any flow input when the Master switch is off. The Raven 700 had an alarm that would sound when flow was detected and the Master was off as they considered this a situation to which the operator should be alerted.
