Crazy hot weather here in MO, started shelling corn Aug 20 at 25%, put it through the drier for about a week then found some dry enough to go straight into the bin. Had most of the bins 1/2 full of 15-17% corn then the temps went down to 40 degress for two nights. I thought perfect, can get this cooled down and will keep perfectly. Kept on shelling corn and have now filled the 1/2 full bins that were cooled down with rather warm, dry corn. They are calling for another week of warm weather, the dry, hot corn has been in the bin for 5 or 6 days with no fan(hoping it would cool down more at night), should I run my fans at night? I hate to have to warm the bottom of the bin back up because it is 60 at night, but I also don't want to have 40 degree corn on the bottom and 80+ degree corn on the top of the same bin. |
