Subject: Fertilizer depth with striptill

When strip tilling for corn last year I ran 7 inches deep with the tooth and 75 percent of the fertilizer was 6-7 inches deep and the last 25 percent was some were from the top of the soil to the bottom of the tooth.

Any thoughts on if I should bring more of the fertilizer closer to the top of the soil. So it is closer to the seed earlier.

How close can you be without seed damage?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
