That is what the flow delay settings are for.  The method of adjusting the flow delays varies with the system you are using and with your software.  I don't have experience with Farm Site, but I know they have provisions for adjusting the flow delay settings.  CNH on their newest monitors, hard codes the flow delays into their monitor (unless they have changed that just recently).  Most other systems have a default flow delay in the monitor, but it can be changed when the data is imported into GIS software.  Again, the method varies with the software you are using.
