That's the idea of a lower rate. We got this recipe from the weed management guy for the county. Not sure where he got it from but so far it seems to work. Knocks out the bineweed and doesn't kill off the ground for an extended period of time.

As for oats and sunflowers, don't raise either of them. Not a problem for my crop rotation but good point to bring up in case.
