Guess I'm not answering your question but it sure looks like whopping corn. What length of day corn is it? We have the same problem as you. To get yeilds in the 250bu plus range we have been growing 125 day varietys and some of them get pretty tall. Trying to get all of that residue plowed under so you can furrow irrigate the next year can be a challange

Edit: Looked back and the Grand Valley stuff we planted this year was a 115 day variety.
