Carlinville

We are running 3 Gs2's with rate controllers with Dickey John systems on the toolbars. Check out this link to the online manual for the new updated GS2 for Nh3.

http://manuals.deere.com/omview/OMPC20684_19/

This version will not be released until spring, but we have been running with them since last fall. I had to take the cable that went to the Raven toolbar harness and push out the pins and place them into a different connector to use the DJ toolbar harness. I have a spreadsheet with the pinouts. It is not very hard to do with this cheatsheet. You will also have to add at least one electric shutoff valve. We use two now and will go to four sections next year. The swath control will make it worth the investment for extra valves.

The manual above shows how the new version will let you show the rate in pounds, but the system as it is now only shows GALLONS applied. You will have to convert your rate to GPA. Just take the pounds you want and divide by 5.15 for material or 4.22 for units. The rate will run anywhere from 30 to 50 GPA on the display. We have an SOP on setting the GS2 up for NH3. I also have a spreadsheet for calibrating the system and getting the new Cal #'s

I will try to place these on our web site tomorrow for anyone to use......
