St.Clair Co. IL. | Well it never fails, I was out cutting wheat Saturday, the weatherman was forcasting rain, the computer put the most likely time frame was around five pm. So I took my handheld weather radio along and started cutting,kept watching the sky and checking the reports every hopper dump, not raining anywhere!! got to the fartherest part of the field cutting around some creek bottom headlands and come out from the tree line and looked up!!! O man I'm screwed!!! sky blk, wind blowing and rain comeing across field in sheets, threw it in high got to the truck unloaded, covered load, barely got out of field with load, left combine running and headed to the farm of course everything is open nothing cleaned up and raining so hard you could not see ten ft. And the best part was on my own no one around to transport me or help so I ended up walking back a mile for combine,.god I love FARMING!!!!! LOL anyone else near as lucky as me??LOL Bob O by the way we got a little over a inch of rain out of it | |
