Subject: Want to var rate striptill fert.

North Central Indiana
Looking for some suggestions on converting my striptill bar to Var rate fertilizer. I'm not totally illiterate on the subject,(in former life, controls engineer and countermeasures tech in AF) but been away long enough I need some help. I have a 12 row Newmatics fert box on a Progressive bar. This year I want to be able to change the rate from the cab without getting out and change chain and sprockets. Eventually I would like to control with gps and insight or??. Want to do this myself so I understand it in case of problems.
My thinking and what I've been able to glean from farm shows is to remove the drive wheel and chain, install a hydraulic motor controlled by PWM valve. and some sort of controller.
Open for suggestions. What kind of motor and valve, what controller that can be added to in future, Insight or can I use GS2. Cost is not a real problem, but I do want to keep cost down as much as possible. Also want to know if there something else I'm not thinking of. TIA
