Leica Geosystems and RINEX Technology have formed an agreement to develop revolutionary new technology and tools for the agriculture industry

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Leica Geosystems and RINEX Technology have formed an agreement to develop revolutionary new technology and tools for the agriculture industry, which will be distributed by Leica Geosystems. Working together the companies will bring innovative new technologies to agriculture markets.

RINEX brings more than 10 years of experience in the area of precision farming with a proven track record of being the worlds’ first to market in areas like contour steering, boom section controls for sprayers, and in real-time mapping.

Leica Geosystems has capitalized on their 180-year history in the survey, construction and mining industries to provide innovative new technologies like the mojoRTK Auto-steer platform which fits neatly in the radio slot of the tractor, and Virtual Wrench™ a revolutionary support and diagnostic system that allows technicians to remotely service Ag electronics in real-time.

Together these companies will combine their efforts in research and development as they continue to create innovative new solutions that can be customized to fit the individual needs of each farmer. By maintaining this level of service, farmers are provided with the option to buy only the features they need to create a completely customized system at an affordable price.

“This means our customers can expect an unparalleled suite of products that work seamlessly,” says John Hill, agriculture business director at Leica Geosystems “RINEX is well known for being first to market with innovative technologies and now, we will quickly provide a range of integrated and powerful agricultural applications designed to improve farm productivity.”

RINEX Business Manager, Rob Kiernan added, “I am excited to be working with such a respected organisation to increase our distribution coverage.” “Together we share the focus of delivering reliable, easy-to-use, industry-first products to the market.”

Through this partnership, farmers will have the opportunity to buy a complete range of precision farming products from one supplier. For example, farmers will be able to upgrade their mojoRTK system with additional hardware and software applications like contour steering and mapping features.
