Agent Orange: Friendly fire that keeps on burning. | It's quite common here. I put the selector valve on one of my trucks and the other one had a 2-valve setup when I bought it. I run 6" augers on mine and they work fine. Of course, if the pump is worn out, your results may vary. I've been around some trucks with pumps in such bad shape that you need to rev the engine till the valves nearly 'float' before the box raises. Those would need to have the pump re-built. One thing I don't like about the selector valve is when you switch from the hoist end of things to the auger, there is a small dead spot that lets the box drop just a bit. Pull the valve as quickly as possible and the drop is lessened but it's still there. It's probably a good thing that I can't see just how much of a pressure spike that creates. |
