West Central Minnesota | That appears to be one of the newer Stuttgart tractors. It was conceived and built by the late Don Oliver of Stuttgart Impl. The ones that I have seen were GTB or GB drive trains and usually used the 605 cu in power unit for an engine instead of the G's 403 engine. This engine was not available in a diesel version, but then LPG was a very popular fuel in that area at that time frame. The later versions were "polished" much more than the early tractors. As someone else had said, they were one of the first 4WD in that area. When MM decided to build their own 4WD tractor they got permission from Don Oliver to have one of his tractors shipped to Hopkins so that their engineers could evaluate it. What they came up with is the tractor that is sitting next to it in the picture. The A4T 1600 and the 2655 were the same tractor. | |
