Subject: More cover plates in wheat discussion

Ontario, Canada
I know a lot of you like cover plates on large wire concaves for doing wheat. Our typical set up is small wire concaves, no cover plates and every other wire pulled in #3. Rarely do we have thashing issues. Cover plates will reduce seperation capacity but some of that can be gained back by pulling wires or using large wire concaves. My question: by using cover plates can we run the concave more open and get a better straw yield?
