Which variety are you growing now for Molsons/Canada Malting? I am 50 miles SE of Calgary and in a good malt growing area also. Acreage of barley has dropped dramaticly here because no price premimum over feed barley and locals are tired of dealing with Canada Malting. I have dealt directly with them and also through the elevator system. Make sure you know who is paying the freight when one or more of your trucks come back to your farm. The feed lots are half the distance from you to Calgary perhaps a high yeilding feed might be better? no worries of protien being to high or poor germanation. I guess since the locals won't deal with them they had to go where they are not known. Congrats on the award you obviously know how to grow the stuff.
