Boyd, WI | Scott- figure on about 8 hp per foot in general. Obviously that depends on many things including soil type, any previous tillage, depth, etc. Your tractor should be fine, especially with the MFWD. We've run a 16 ft Kent for several years with a 9700 Ford. Weren't able to run it quite as desired with depth and speed, but it worked. We've since graduated to 26 ft and 240 hp MFWD. We've found 6 mph or more is ideal. Too fast and you'll know it. Too slow, well it still works. Best when running the harrow you've got, be sure the entire machine frame is running level when in the ground. Then adjust the harrow. A neighbor found that out the hard way after a few hundred acres of plugging and headaches. Glenco parts are readily available from Shoup in Kankakee, IL if I remember correctly. Good luck. | |
